Possible measles exposure on Air Canada flight Public health officials state


Public health authorities west of Toronto state they have actually validated a case of the measles in a child who returned house on a flight from Switzerland.

Peel Public Health states the baby from Brampton, Ont., was on a Feb. 12 Air Canada flight from Zurich to Toronto.

Authorities caution that anybody else on the flight, which left Zurich at 10:30 a.m. and came to Pearson International Airport at 2:15 p.m., might have been exposed.

Measles is extremely infectious, and infants, pregnant females and individuals with weak body immune systems are most susceptible.

Signs consist of a high fever, coughing, aching eyes, little areas inside the mouth and rashes on the skin.

Authorities state anybody who thinks they might have been exposed need to call prior to entering into a medical center to prevent more spreading out the infection.
