Samantha Bee has apologized for insulting Ivanka Trump with a profane phrase on her television program, explaining it as “inexcusable”.

The Canadian-American comedian had actually attacked the United States very first daughter over the immigration policy of her daddy President Donald Trump on her TBS show Full Frontal.

Bee called Ms Trump a “feckless c ***” as she advised the White House consultant to talk to her father about a United States policy of separating undocumented immigrant kids from their families.

” Put on something tight and low-cut and inform your dad to f *** ing stop it,” she said.

Bee, 48, a former reporter on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, confessed to crossing a line with the remark and stated she regrets it.

She tweeted: “I would like to genuinely apologise to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using a curse on my show to explain her last night.

” It was inappropriate and untenable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.”

Her network, TBS, stated “it was our mistake, too,” including that Bee had taken the right action in saying sorry.

They did not state whether there would be any consequences for Bee or the show, which is taped and not aired live.

Prior to the apology, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, had actually called Bee’s language “disgusting and vicious”.

She said executives at TBS and business parent Time Warner had to demonstrate that such specific profanity about female members of the administration “would not be excused”.

Some conservatives have recommended Bee should be consulted with the same fate as Roseanne Barr, while liberals questioned if Bee’s usage of language was any worse than some utilized by Mr Trump.

“I dream of a life where we hold our president to a greater standard than we hold comedians,” Marie Connor, another comic, wrote on Twitter.

Ari Fleischer, former press secretary to former president George W Bush, said the media reaction to the Barr and Bee events suggested a double requirement.
