Samsung Show on Tuesday said it has actually established the world’s first UHD OLED (natural light releasing diode) display for laptop computers. The panel-making system of Samsung Electronics stated it will start mass production of the UHD OLED panels in mid-February, sporting a diagonal size of 15.6 inches and a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
In a declaration, Samsung Display said the screens have a high resolution, low blue light, and a broad seeing angle, permitting it to tackle the premium segment. Samsung also says the new UHD OLED panel features a 1.7-times higher colour volume compared to LCD panels of comparable size, efficient in displaying 3.4 million colours and satisfying the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
The company said the OLED panels are thinner and more energy efficient than their LCD items, although they can be more pricey (by about $50 to $60) than an equivalent LCD panel.
In 2019, market observers expect growing need for laptop computers using UHD OLED panels, which are much better for watching high-resolution content and playing video games.
